JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate Staff Physical Therapist to join our growing team in a full-time, benefited role. This opportunity is ideal for a new graduate or a clinician with a few years of experience who has a strong interest in manual therapy, strength training, and evidence-based care.

As a full-time team member at Jay West Physical Therapy, you will receive:

  • A competitive salary ranging from $95,000–$115,000, commensurate with experience and certifications

  • Hourly equivalent: $45.67–$55.29/hr, depending on tier and experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver high-quality physical therapy services to patients with orthopedic and sports-related conditions using a blend of manual therapy, strength training, and evidence-based rehabilitation strategies.

  • Evaluate patients' musculoskeletal, neurological, and functional needs to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Actively collaborate with colleagues, referring providers, and support staff to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

  • Engage in ongoing clinical education and stay updated on best practices in orthopedic physical therapy.

  • Take part in mentorship and supervision of physical therapy students and assistants, including providing timely feedback and participating in clinical instruction.

  • Participate in at least one external continuing education course or professional development event annually.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, and ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in regular staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and educational seminars.

  • Contribute to practice visibility and patient engagement by collaborating with our marketing team on occasional media campaigns (e.g., bio, area of specialty, featured therapist content).

  • Be available for occasional Saturday shifts (1–2 times/month) based on clinic needs and with advanced notice.

FUNCTIONS

The applicant must be able to perform the physical requirements as listed, including but not limited to:

  • Lift and carry up to 50lbs from floor to waist for up to 10ft independently.

  • Jog, run, jump, squat, hinge, lunge, push, and pull to demonstrate exercises.

  • Stand or sit unassisted for up to 1 hour at a time.

JOB-RELATED SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

  • Sensitivity and professionalism in handling confidential patient information (HIPAA/PHI)

  • Time management, planning, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Gmail, EMR systems, and clinical documentation

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

REQUIREMENTS

  • Active California Physical Therapy License (or PTLA status) required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required; Doctorate (DPT) or Master’s preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in orthopedic and/or sports physical therapy preferred, though new graduates with strong clinical interest in orthopedics, manual therapy, and strength-based rehab are encouraged to apply

  • Demonstrated manual therapy and therapeutic exercise skills, including strength and sport-specific training

  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and clinical reasoning skills

  • Experience with Medicare and Workers' Compensation patients preferred

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including participation in external continuing education annually

  • Enthusiasm for mentoring students and participating in clinical education

  • Preferred: Advanced certifications such as OCS, SCS, CHT, or enrollment in post-professional fellowship programs

SCHEDULE

  • This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling options ranging between 32 to 40 hours per week

  • Weekly hours may be structured across 4 or 5 days, depending on clinician preference and clinic needs:

    • 32 hours: over 4 or 5 days

    • 36 hours: over 4 or 5 days

    • 40 hours: over 4 or 5 days

  • Weekend shifts (primarily Saturdays) may be requested 1–2 times per month based on clinic need and will be communicated with advanced notice

    • Saturday shifts will be limited to a maximum of 6 hours

SALARY STRUCTURE

  • Base salary range: $95,000 – $115,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications

  • Full-time positions are structured in three tiers:

    • Tier 3: 40 hours/week — full base salary ($95,000–$115,000)

    • Tier 2: 36 hours/week — 90% pro-rated of base salary

    • Tier 1: 32 hours/week — 80% pro-rated of base salary

  • All tiers are considered full-time with full benefits
